PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR AN ORDINARY PASS
A pass is issued to a person of Cameroonian nationality who does not hold a Cameroonian passport, or whose passport has expired, and who wishes to travel from Canada to Cameroon.
Since 28 November 2025, the application procedure for an Ordinary Pass has been exclusively online via the official “consular services portal”, accessible via the following link:
https://evisacam.cm/ords/dl_portal/r/public_portal/home
The procedure must be followed carefully, in accordance with the six (06) main steps below:
- Open a user account for new users (create a username and password) or log in to the platform using a username and password for users who already have an account;
- Select the requested service by clicking on the ‘services’ tab to display the options and choose the one relating to the Ordinary Pass;
- 3. Fill in the online service request form, providing all the mandatory and useful personal information required by the system;
- Upload all the required documents listed below;
- Pay the fees for issuing the Ordinary Pass directly online on the platform. Once payment has been made, proof of successful transaction will be generated in the form of a code or payment receipt to be printed and kept for presentation to the Embassy when physically registering and collecting the requested document;
- Physical enrolment at the High Commission of Cameroon in Canada and collection of the document. This involves the collection of the physical parameters of the Ordinary Pass applicant (fingerprint, photograph and signature). To do this, the user must go to the High Commission with the online pre-enrolment form bearing a QR code and their original passport.
LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE PROVIDED FOR AN ORDINARY LAISSEZ-PASSER APPLICATION
- Online pre-registration stage
During this stage, the following MANDATORY documents must be properly SCANNED and uploaded to the application:
– Certificate of nationality;
– Copy of national identity card or passport or certificate of loss of passport issued by the police services of the place where the event occurred;
– Copy of birth certificate;
– Copy of the old passport mentioned in the application or a certificate of loss and/or damage;
– Copy of valid residence permit for Canada (permanent residence card, visa, work permit and/or study permit);
– Any other Cameroonian identification document with photo (consular card/driving licence).
- Physical enrolment stage
On the day of your appointment at the High Commission of Cameroon in Canada for the collection of physical data (fingerprints, photograph and signature), you MUST present the following documents:
3- Original Cameroonian passport and,
4- Approval form with QR code.
COLLECTION OF THE ORDINARY LAISSEZ-PASSER
The Ordinary Laissez-Passer can be collected immediately after physical enrolment. It is valid for ninety (90) days from the date of issue. It can only be used once.
IN CASE OF LOSS OF THE ORDINARY LAISSEZ-PASSER
In view of the significant physical changes to this document, its replacement follows exactly the same process as described above. However, instead of the passport, a CERTIFICATE of loss must be submitted, issued by the police services of the place where the event occurred. As with the passport, this is the physical report detailing the circumstances of the loss of the document and NOT the document bearing only the file number.
If an Ordinary Pass already issued is not used, proof of the reasons for this non-use must be included in the application for a new pass, otherwise it will be rejected.
IN CASE OF PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE ORDINARY LAISSEZ-PASSER APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Two scenarios are possible:
– The Ordinary Laisser-Passer application submitted online is incomplete. It will be returned once or twice for modifications and/or to complete the missing documents. Users who receive notification by email must follow the steps below to correct the problem:
- Return to the consular services platform;
- Click on ‘modify my application’ and follow the steps;
- Correct the problem according to the instructions contained in the return notification;
- Resubmit your application.
- Rejection of the application for an Ordinary Pass. This occurs in cases where the user does not meet the requirements (foreign national) or the file has been returned several times and has not been completed and/or corrected as required. In this case, the user will have to start the entire procedure again and pay the relevant fees online once more.
For any other technical issues related to the online procedure (uploading documents, payment difficulties, etc.), a request must be submitted to the following email address: contact@evisacam.cm.
The message must be BRIEF and contain the following information:
- The subject of the request;
- The identification number on the pre-enrolment form;
- Proof of payment (receipt);
- Once the problem has been submitted, wait for a response from the Evisacam team.
In the event of double payment, the request for reimbursement of the surplus must be sent to https://claim.evisacam.cm/.
N.B: Only double payments attributable to a possible malfunction of the consular services platform will be reimbursed after verification of the documents submitted in support of the request.
Multiple payments made through the successive submission of several requests by the same person will not be refunded.
OPENING HOURS FOR RECEIVING REGULAR LAISSEZ-PASSER APPLICATION FILES (PHYSICAL ENROLMENT)
