The High Commission is open to the general public
from 9:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
The High Commission is however closed to the public on all national holidays in Canada and in Cameroon
All persons entering Cameroon must be in possession of a valid passport (minimum 6 months) or Travel Document establishing the identity of the holder.
Travel Documents include Laissez-Passer or other travel documents issued by International Agencies recognized by the Government of Cameroon.
Nationals of the following countries are exempted from obtaining ENTRY VISAS to Cameroon:
MALI, CHAD, CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC, NIGERIA
HOLDERS OF SPECIAL PASSPORTS ON OFFICIAL DUTY AND DIPLOMATIC / SERVICE PASSPORTS.
Travelers may be refused entry into Cameroon if they fall within the category of prohibited immigrants and if they do not satisfy immigration requirements at the point of entry. The Government of Cameroon will not be financially liable for their repatriation.
The following are charges for Entry Visas. These may be revised from time to time without prior notice, please inquire
Business & Tourist Short Stay Visa (1 - 3 months multiple entry)

- Payments are made payable to Cameroon High Commission, Ottawa and only cash, money orders and certified checks are acceptable.
- A Single Entry Visa is valid for entry into Cameroon within three months i.e. the visa will expire if not used to travel within three months from the date of issue. However, the actual period permitted for stay in Cameroon shall be endorsed by Cameroon Immigration Service at the point of entry into Cameroon, usually for 60 days.
- Visas are normally issued for visits of three-month duration but may be extended by applications to the Cameroon Immigration Service before expiration.
- Multiple-Entry Visas endorsed for six months means that the applicant is granted unlimited entries into Cameroon within six months from date visa was issued.
A valid passport or travel document with an expiry date of at least Six (6) months.
1 copy of a completed visa application form.
1 recent and signed Passport Size Photograph.
A photocopy of International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever. However, other vaccines and treatment for malaria are recommended.
A copy of return ticket or flight confirmation from a Travel Agency.
Proof of means of subsistence (copy of signed bank balance), and letter of invitation from your hosts in Cameroon signed by local authorities.
REQUESTS FOR BUSINESS VISAS Should be accompanied by a Cameroonian Firm/Company letter guaranteeing stay in Cameroon and stating the reasons for visit REQUEST FOR STUDENT VISAS Should be accompanied by a letter from the Institution applicant intends to study and evidence of financial means while in Cameroon. Letter of Acceptance from the Institution will be required. Please use the name and address of the institution in Cameroon as your reference in Cameroon REQUESTS FOR VISITORS/TOURIST VISAS Should be accompanied by names and addresses of hosts or can be the Hotel where applicant will be lodging REQUESTS FOR EMPLOYMENT VISAS Should be accompanied with a Contract of Employment in Cameroon. Please provide a reference (should be the company or organization-employing applicant), and an authorization to work in Cameroon, issued by the Cameroon government REQUESTS FOR TRANSIT VISAS Enclose a valid to and return air ticket of the final destination and passport should have visa of the said destination REQUESTS FOR SHORT STAY VISAS TO VISIT FAMILY MEMBERS Should attach a letter of invitation from a family member or friend, signed by the competent local authority.
THIS CONDITION APPLIES TO EVERYONE INCLUDING CAMEROONIANS OF ORIGIN.
NEVERTHELESS, CAMEROONIANS OF ORIGIN WHO CANNOT OBTAIN A SIGNED INVITATION LETTER BECAUSE OF COMMUNICATION DIFFICULTIES SHOULD DOWNLOAD AND SIGN THE DECLARATION IN HONOUR FORM .
The delay to deliver visas is 48 hours
VISAS BY POST - REGISTERED MAIL ONLY:
Visa applications by post will be accepted and processed only if all relevant documents are enclosed. A Pre-Paid self- addressed envelope must be provided by applicants for return mail. It is preferable to use one of the reputable couriers i.e. FEDEX, Purolator, or Priority-Express Mail (Canada Post):
Application for an Entry Visa for Cameroon
APPLICANTS ARE TO NOTE THAT THE MAKING OF A FALSE STATEMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROCURING A PASSPORT IS AN OFFENCE UNDER THE IMMIGRATION ACT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON .
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Application forms must be fully completed. Should an applicant be less than 18 years, the Parents/Guardians must complete, date and sign the Form.
- Three (3) passport size photographs (4 cm x 4 cm) must be attached to the application. The photographs should be endorsed at the back and dated. Please do NOT SEND any other type of photos.
- IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A NEW PASSPORT, THE EXPIRED PASSPORT MUST BE SURRENDERED.
- Please attach the old passport, which will be cancelled and retained in exchange for the new one. The Processing Fee is $150.00 CND, made payable by Bank Draft or Postal Money Order to Cameroon High Commission, Ottawa or payment in cash.

Application for a New Passport
An applicant for a misplaced passport must fully complete a passport application form and return it with:
- Original of birth certificate.
- Original of national identity card (or/and Driver's License (if any)).
- A police report.Applicants in this category will be invited to the Mission for an interview in order for the Mission to satisfy itself that they are bona fide Cameroon nationals. Applicants are kindly requested to call the Mission to schedule appointments for interviews.Applicants for the replacement of lost passport must apply in person. There is a substantial waiting period for the issuance of a new passport (3 months). There is no consideration of an emergency in this situation.
Cameroonian Travel Certificates are issued only to persons who are not in possession of Cameroon Passports and require traveling to Cameroon on the request of immigration officers (deportation). This document is valid for three months. Upon completion of a Travel Certificate Form, applicants will be required to produce evidence of Cameroonian nationality such as photocopy of a passport, birth certificate, and national identity card. Applicants are required to apply personally at the Mission for an interview at the time of submitting the request for the Travel Certificate or through the immigration services
Cameroonians who are residents abroad should at the earliest opportunity register their names and addresses at the nearest Diplomatic Mission or Consulate of Cameroon. They will be issued a consular card. Failure to do this may in a period of emergency result in difficulty or delay in according them the assistance and protection of which they are entitled. Changes of address or departure from the country should also be notified to the Mission or Consulate. Visitors are not entitled to consular cards
