High Commission


The High Commission for the Republic of Cameroon in Canada is in charged of a general mission of representation of Cameroon in accordance with internatinal treaties and law.
The functions of the High Commission for the Republic of Cameroon in Ottawa are as follow:

To represent The Republic of Cameroon in Canada.
To protect the interests of the Republic of Cameroon and Cameroonians nationals in accordance with internatinal laws ;
To negotiate with the federal government of Canada ;
To promote friendly relations and to develop cultural, scientific and economic relations between Cameroon and Canada.

Note :
Cameroon and Canada established diplomatic relations with a resident ambassador since 1962.
Cameroon is since November 1995 the 52nd country to become member of the Commonwealth, that explains the change intervened since then in the appellation of our diplomatic mission in Canada and in all members countries of the Commonwealth association.
