The management of the telecommunications in Cameroon is confided jointly to the TCRA (Telecommunication of Cameroon Regulation Agency) and in the CAMTEL (Cameroon Telecommunications). The TCRA follows-up of the operators, eve on the interests of the telephone consumers The CAMTEL manages the national network of the stationary telephone. As the Cellular network is managed by MTN and the Orange company.

The CAMTEL network (stationary telephone) is endowed of modern and effective facilities. It consists of two rural stations in Bépanda (Douala) and Zamengoué (Yaoundé). Most customers are connected on the facilities of communications of numeric type. The telephone users can use a magnetic card to join their correspondents from the public cabins, installed along the main streets of the cities. Phone shops equipped in Fax are available in all districts of the cities of Cameroon.

The media landscape

The CRTV (Cameroon Radio Television) is the leader concerning broadcasting in Cameroon. the National radio station in Yaounde broadcasts on the shortwaves (60 m and 49 m) and on the F.M. radio is situated in the Nlongkak district, Rue Konrad ADENAUER. Every provincial capital has a provincial station of CRTV. Moreover, Yaounde, Douala and Buea possess in addition to the FM commercial stations , bets to the disposition of the economic operators.

The national Television, based in Mballa II, (Yaounde) broadcasts on all the extent of the national territory, thanks to the implanted relay stations,through the territory. The broadcasting by Satellite assures to the CRTV an international radiance.The CRTV privileges information: from Monday to Friday, the national and international news are broadcated from the Radio and the Television.
